Hailee Steinfeld for Miu Miu

Here's a sneak peek at the new Miu Miu Fall 2011 ad campaign, featuring one of my favorite young actresses, Hailee Steinfeld. Though only 14 years old, Hailee looks far more mature and sophisticated in the new snaps. In her short time in the spotlight she has donned some incredible looks on the red carpet too (remember her fairytale Marchesa gown at the Oscars?). I can't wait to see more of Hailee in the future!
Oh to be that young and have designers chomping at the bit to work with you. **Le sigh**

Under the Sea.... Bounty- Lori Nix

This piece, Bounty- Lost Series, is by far one of the most creative imaginings I have seen in quite some time. The image was produced by artist Lori Nix who takes a unique approach to photography. Instead of going out into the world and finding inspiration, Lori actually constructs the subjects from hand so as to capture exactly what she wants and does not use digital manipulation to create her pieces. Check out her webpage and blog

Bensimon- C'est la mode

So chic, so cool, so FRENCH!  Bensimon sneakers are the French girls' answer to our Chuck Taylors. A must own for all of you Francophiles out there! They are infinitely cool with a slim silhouette and antique lived-in feel that is decidedly feminine. With a canvas upper and rubber sole they are not only chic but über comfy.  They come in a barrage of colors and prints available and in 4 main styles: (1) la tennis lacets (2) la tennis élastique (3) la ballerine (ballet flat) and (4) la tennis montante (high rise). There is even an entire blog dedicated the the brand! Check out The Bensimon Girls. (PS.. The lovely, Joanna Goddard,  recently did a post on them too!)

PS I recently bought a pair of Tennis Lacets from a sample sale website, size 38 (fits like a size 7/7.5) in taupe...
Sadly, they are too small on me and I cannot return. Therefore, I am regretfully selling these lovelies without even having had the chance to take them for a stroll.  They are brand new, never worn and in the original plastic Bensimon bag. I am willing to sell for $35 or $40 with shipping. Click to see the same version I'm selling at Shopbop. Comment below or send me a message if you are seriously interested!
Bonne Chance!

Site of the Day: What Should I Read Next

Ever finish a great book and crave another read with a similar genre/ story line.. I have become addicted to the ingenious website, What Should I Read Next?, which answers that very question for you. Simply by entering the title of a book or the name of your favorite author, the site generates a list of book recommendations for you. Amaze-balls! Not only, does it provide the title of recommendations for you but it provides a link where to buy it and other additional info about the book.!

On that note.. Any good recommendations for a summer read!?

Have a Spec -Tacular Day!

It's that time of the year for my spring eye exam... And yet I am hesitant to go as last year the doc said that due to staring at a computer all day at work my eye sight worsened terribly. Perhaps the only saving grace of going to the optometrist is getting to pick out a new pair of glasses. So much fun, yet so much pressure. Specs are a piece of daily wear but they still need to be make a statement about your personality and style. In the past I have always opted for a fun colored metal frame with skinny rectangular lenses that fit my face best. Recently I came across a posting at A Cup of Jo, which featured funky frames by Spex Club. All of the glasses on their website are $88 or less (including your prescription)! At that price I could buy 2 pairs for the same amount I normally pay for one at my eye doc. As if things couldn't get any better, you can pick your fave frames and they can make them into sunglasses too!
My favorites are the Derringer
...A little geek-tastic and colorful. I think they suit my style just right
What do you think? What is your favorite style!?

Happy Thursday!
(PS sorry for the lack of posts lately. I will try to keep up!
I started training for Triathlon #2 recently and am uber tired when I get home)

K. Jaques, Mais Oui

Always on the lookout for the perfect pair of summer sandals... I am a big fan of neutral colored, flat sandals with straps around the back of the foot to make sure they stay in place. It is so hard to find a good pair that I usually end up buying some fun cheapos from Target to last me one season. Ever since I came across these beautiful, classic K. Jacques I can't get them out of my head. I love their simple asymmetrical straps and top buckle closure. They are the kind of sandal that can go with just about any outfit and aren't overly fussy or appear to be straight out of the movie Gladiator or a torture chamber. Perhaps it is time I stepped up and invested in a quality pair of sandals...
Thoughts or other recommendations?! For now I will ponder over these lovelies

Happy Wednesday!
