"All the world's a cage." ~Heanne Philips

YSL cage booties hit the runway in Spring 09. These shoes will definitely make you stop in your tracks to gawk at the one who dons them. Whether that gawk one of awe, shock, confusion, or wonderment each person has their own opinion. Nevertheless these shoes are definitely a STATEMENT piece.

Tis the Season

Love Love Vogue's list of 10 gifts under $30...

My favorite item on their list is the set of 4 Ikat-print journals $29.95 from Nate Berkus' HSN collection (oh NB... you and your love of Ikat and chain links. I should have known!)

There'll Be No School Tomorrow If It Snows... (if only it applied to work!)

Chicago Winter is officially here. Over the past few days we have been hit with snow, rain and ice. Today's temperature hovered right around 3 degrees for the majority of the day. In the name of fashion practicality usually goes out the window... but in this weather some compromises have to be made (usually in order to protect my well-being as I am a master clutz).  No matter how I may struggle to be chic while battling the elements... I always manage to resemble the Stay-Puft Marshmallow man in my down winter coat, UA running tights and suede furry boots (not pretty I know but practical.. Yes!).  Today's post is an ode to some stylish ladies who manage to look sophisticated even in the most Arctic like climates ... albeit if only in the movies!

Crafty Haven

The world is but a canvas to the imagination. ~Thoreau

If I had my dream home I would have a room dedicated solely to crafting!  And in this room I would put the Pottery Barn Bedford Project Table Set   On sale for $949 (normally $1157)..  So much space to spread out my projects and at the same time keep everything organized and close at hand!

(... as a matter of fact with unlimited funds I may try to copy this entire room!) Alas, my due to a minimal budget I may have to consider the Target version Adams Craft Table at a much more reasonable $127.99

The only downside is that it doesn't break down into separate pieces like the Bedford... and it doesn't come in the pretty Antique White color. Oh well. Some exceptions need to be made in the name of being wallet friendly.  Hmm.. with all the money I would save; just think of all the extra supplies I could buy! ... WAIT.. that defeats the purpose of saving money in the first place. I must stop my overactive imagination before it gets too out of hand!

Hope you had a Happy Monday!

If my head wasn't attached I'd lose that too...

I am always the one who is misplacing my keys inside of the refrigerator, searching frantically for my glasses only to realize that I am wearing them, finding that I have left my phone at home on the charger when I get to work..... Well you get the picture. If you know me then you know that I am the epitome of forgetful. Not too sure how I feel about wall stickers but I do know that a blatant sign that forces me to STOP.. think about what I have in my pockets/ purse before I leave the house would be a great thing for me to have.

This "Before You Leave" decal from Hu2 design is just the thing I need so I never (hopefully) forget my phone at home again. It is a little bit pricey at approx $25 USD (£15).. but just imagining the headache/ irritation it could save me on a daily basis is well worth the price!
